As an example of how we are surrendering our ability to govern ourselves How can we support an EU that takes months & disallows UK from setting its own welfare yet Merkel can decide on Turkey immigration overnight?

Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostThe whole point of the debate is that the UK cannot determine its own immigration policy. So the UKs share of the costs of bribing Turkey is 500 million that is what the UK is obliged to pay as a member of the EU. It is a policy that Merkel has unilaterally decided upon forced upon the rest of the EU by her policy of offering asylum to all refugees. Turkey holds the cards you dullard because it borders Syria and most refugees have to pass through it get to EU countries. So Turkey can choose whether to let them through.Comment
