I'm getting up at 3 am tomorrow to go 300 miles for an interview... for a £365 job.

I've also just been to Sainsbury's for some new boxers.

So yes - everything is pants...

you slagging off a £365 day rate job, or is it £365 for a one off job??

You're siding with the contractor only because its a contractor forum. I sense BIG conflict of interest

I will always side with myself. I find that when you're honest you don't need to remember as much. When you're right and honest, even better. When you're right, honest, reasonable and have the majority share of the brains in a 2 person debate then it's worth staying true to yourself.

You must be special

No just learnt from experience.
Most customers don't know what they really want.
Most agents don't know what the customer needs.
Possibility you are wasting your time going to a F2F before a phone interview, very high.

Against the possibility that you will not get the job because you didn't do a F2F, low.

Also the people that will drag you 300 miles, without a phone interview, are people you don't want to work for.
