          The 2000 floods were the worst since the 1600's (oops pre industrialisation) - did the opening of the flood defence perhaps play a part in this weeks "worst since records began" floods as those same defences were used in 2000 and successfully prevented the devastation seen today

                      Rivers flood. Natures defence is flood plains. We build houses on flood plains then get all arsey that houses get flooded out. The water has to go somewhere...
