OK, opening it up a bit, is there anyone who flies model aircraft? Quadcopter drones? As a passenger in someone elses's aircraft? Hot air ballooning?

Paper aeroplanes?

There are one or two pilots on here but they don't regularly post anymore.

Around £20K second hand. It is 15 years old.
There is a syndicate of 5 of us who own it, so £4K each to buy a share in it.
Then £45/month. Then £40/hour all in to fly it.
Loads of availability as for some reason most of the other members don't fly it much.

The big expense is learning to fly in the first place. Around £7K for training with these guys:

to get your NPPL (PPL for microlights, which my plane is categorised as, being a light weight 2-seater).
Medical: If you're fit to drive a car, you can fly one of these.

That would be because you can generally get 3G signal on your phone while airborne, but only below 1000 feet. Yes I've made calls from the air before now, with hands free.

I don't understand these references to spaghetti. I'm sure I'll get it later

I've broken / lost about 5 in the last year. Stopped now.

I got my PPL in 1999 and I still knock around the skies in a Cessna 172 (in a 14 member syndicate). Cost of the share is worth about £1000-£1500, so therefore think "10 year old Ford Fiesta with high mileage" rather than multiples of BMWs ;-)

As it happens, I also fly model 'planes too.

Is it possible to fly to Rome in your aircraft and buy a bowl of spaghetti and then fly back while consuming it ?
