    We are seeing huge demand. I suppose it depends in which area but in our part of the SE the demand is relentless. Perhaps more for individual rooms, but even for social housing.

                Why is housing available for purchase in the first place to foreign buyers?

                The government is effectively increasing house prices with this policy as foreign buyers recover those extra costs through increased sale value.

                  Because they can register a UK Ltd and buy house as a "local" business

                  A better question is why foreign companies, especially from tax heavens, are allowed to have any alloweable activity in this country
