It's not personal for them, it's just business.

Spare a moment for a poor HMRC bod who have to read every post in TDP just in case of it being useful as evidence in High Court...

They don't read CUK in the morning. So they have something to do in the afternoon.

In this case, it really doesn't matter what you write on a forum - heck, writing to your MP or adding to a Consultation document doesn't even mean anything to HMRC. They don't care about individuals, your family, society or even the economy as a whole... all they care about is taking as much tax as they can, which they are being given increasing amounts of power to do so. They've got a hole to fill and they think that tax-raping everything and everyone is the way to go about it, regardless of the wider consequences.

The HMRC doesn't deal with strategy (or thinking). They just execute the orders set by the Chancellor to their best of their abilities. That's their job, and therefore the wrong party to try to influence.

Not a chance in hell. Ever.
I wish I could understand why you lot are panicking so much. At worst we face a challenge, and personally I love challenges.
                I'm a smug bastard.

Because many people have mortgages and life styles based on contractor incomes? . If that changes quite a few people are going to be in a sweaty situation.

I think you are worried that your supply of newbies to insult will dry up.
