A very good article MB."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

LOL! Do you really believe that? Sad.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostHe lives there because the US State Department cancelled his passport while he was in the air flying from Hong Kong to South America, thereby preventing him from completing his journey when the plane made a scheduled stop in Russia.
As for how he supports himself: he's a contractor. "In addition to substantial savings from his career as a well-compensated contractor, he has received numerous awards and speaking fees from around the world. He is also in the process of securing foundation funding for a new press freedom initiative, creating tools that allow journalists to communicate securely."
The importance of having a substantial warchest and developing skills outside one's technical niche is well known to this forum, and he's an example of why.Comment

[QUOTE=meridian;2167869]Why would he take his passport with him to the scene of the crime? Doesnt seem like a very clever tactic.A Greek government minister says the holder of a Syrian passport found at the scene crossed into the European Union through the Greek island of Leros in October.
Deputy public order minister Nikos Toskas, said in a statement:
"On the case of the Syrian passport found at the scene of the terrorist attack, we announce that the passport holder passed from Leros on October 3 where he was identified based on EU rules ... We do not know if the passport was checked by other countries through which the holder likely passed."[\QUOTE]
Well done Merkel et al, and those hand-wringing lefties.
Surprised he was identified, to be honest, I thought the lefties were keen on people just pushing their way across borders without any identification at all.
Somehow, I suspect the perpetrators are second generation immigrants. Most of the fanatics in Europe stem from that group of people.Comment

I dont get your point. The terrorists you refer to were not from the Third world countries that western countries were occupying (via colonialism) at that time.Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostThere was actually. A hundred years ago western countries were beset by Eastern European and Jewist incendiaries and terrorists.Comment

Once again, just because the "scope" of what he "exposed" comes across to you as being of substantial size doesn't necessarily means that he:Originally posted by Zero Liability View PostRemind me why it is his honesty that is in question, given the scale and scope of unlawful surveillance he exposed? If you want to insinuate some sort of sinister agenda into what he did, by all means do so, but unless you have evidence to that effect, I scarcely see what significance it has.
- tells the truth.
- does not have his own agenda.
- is not paid to do and say what he does and says.
FYI there are established ways to deal with the problems he discovered LEGALLY and without breaking the law. But he CHOSE to break the law. Even wondered why? Or do you buy everything a person says just because he claims that his motive is noble? A bit more of critical thinking would be beneficial.

I think they want to destroy ALL civilisation. They're trying to bring about the prophesied global war between islam and the infidels, where Jesus returns to fight alongside the Muslims, everyone dies and the world ends. All in time for 72 virgins and and a nice cuppa.Comment

Well, I know that up to this point you have put forward no real argument as to why I should discount his efforts, and have focused solely on attacking his person by way of insinuation, rather than the significant (and yes, this isn't just a matter of "comes across") wrongdoing on his government's part which he exposed. It doesn't follow from the fact that I am sceptical of the efficacy and morality, of mass surveillance that I "buy" everything he says, either.Originally posted by Lola C View PostOnce again, just because the "scope" of what he "exposed" comes across to you as being of substantial size doesn't necessarily means that he:

As for why he did not go through the "proper" channels, try have a read of this.Comment

I don't think so.Originally posted by SpontaneousOrder View PostI think they want to destroy ALL civilisation. so far I have heard that it is an attack on music.
then I heard its an attack on environmentalism.
I thinks all the kn0bs are out in force trying to be the biggest 'victim'
I heard that some people believe the answer is to massively INCREASE the number of refugees that Europe accepts in order to defuse inequality.(\__/)

This. There's no reasoning with them. As Alfred said, some men just want to watch the world burn.Originally posted by SpontaneousOrder View PostI think they want to destroy ALL civilisation. It's probably also worth pointing out that this is not Islam vs the world. Daesh are quite happy to terrorise and kill other Muslims who are not of their sect or who do not submit to their extremist view. We need to get other Muslim sects in line with defeating these scum, and the media to stop with the whole anti-Islam rhetoric and focus on the sects that are extreme.Comment
