our buyers were polite to our face, then bought it and ripped it up.

My wife was horrified as we had done lots of work that people had been impressed by.

I was pragmatic, we had sold it and had the money to buy a much bigger place in a nice little close.

Remember you are after their money not their friendship. Sometimes their comments make sense and you can do something about them.

I have shown buyers round ever house I have sold. Never received any ridiculous comments. Sometimes people have "misunderstandings" and I have been able to correct those.

Maybe the agent details are misleading? More photos required?

You definitely don't want to be ripping up floorboards or digging up patios at any of Brillopads ex-houses.

With estate agents you can giggle about people's "interesting" decor with the owners you have to pretend you love it, when in reality you know what's going.
