And the answer is still no, the 123 account is still the best.

You can only put £40k in @ 3%, hence the £100 per month.

But of course, you know that. And premium bonds return 0.9% on £50k.

I'll let you do the maths Einstein.

Lay off that, you know that using these things known as "facts" is heretical when it comes to AtW (also a complete waste of time since he'd never ever acknowledge he's wrong).

So, that proves you haven't got £40k in your Santander 123 account. The MAXIMUM they will pay interest on is £20k. If you have £40k in there, you only earn interest on £20k of it. At least, that's what they say on their website.
So, 3% of £20k is £50 per month, less the £5 a month fee (from January) means the most interest you can earn from their savings is £540 a year. I know that's almost the £1,200 you claim, but still, what's an error of 55% between friends?

(Edit to say my source is: http://www.santander-products.co.uk/...tor/123ca.html )

Ah. You see the problem with trying to be a smart arse, is not actually thinking through why someone said something and then not understanding the gap between your 'proof' and what was said.

I have two 123 accounts, which if you bother to check was allowed until a change of policy about a year ago.

So I have 40k over two accounts @ 3%, which is 100 per month.

Now I'll let you see if you're smart enough to challenge that statement....

Can you win £2 mln tax free every single month?

                      No? I thought as much.
