    Mid-life Crisis may be ?

Dear deidre, in a few years time I will be 40, but for some reason this year I have totally had enough of working and just want to quit and do something totally different, the stuff I do I don't really enjoy in fact I hate IT tbh but £ is good, but the thought of going on like this is for another 20 years is making me depressed.

I have no other job to go to at the moment but I am on the verge of resigning (3 months notice), not sure if its a mid-life crisis and will pass, or if I should just go with it and quit ?
I like big butts and I cannot lie.

    Are you me?

I could have written exactly the same thing 10 years ago, and every year since.

      Have a plan B

The more your income isn't reliant on IT the less stress you have
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Me too. IT is so utterly utterly dull and tedious it's like a slow death sentance. The whole scrum/sprint thing was the final nail in the coffin for me. Throw in some cheap offshoring, and you have a the recipe for battery hen style working conditions. That and constant erosion of rates.

Plan B for me, or a trip to Beachy Head. Either way.

Henri, the Existential Cat has a much more inneresting Life.
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

If there is one thing I can guarantee you, it is death. Till that happens, I'd suggest that you venture into every hole aspect of life

Take a break and do something adventurous. Piss off a few people, shag a few hookers, shag your mate's wife, have a plan B, spend some money on travels.

            HTH

PS - MTFU and drill your destiny
