Wow, I'm a huge skeptic when it comes to speaking to a phone/computer/tablet to search for stuff, and it appears I'd be justified when it comes to "Cortana", which is basically a personalised virtual stalker!

It's almost like if you hired a real assistant... they would know all this stuff about you too!

There doesn't seem to be a way to have this stuff useful across multiple devices without storing interesting information about you somewhere... Chrome syncing your bookmarks and history and auto-fill stuff is very neat but you have to let Google store the data to get this for example.

That's fine except they've got a keystroke logger built into the bloody operating system!
Saves hax0rs writing the logging part of the virus, they can just dump your keystroke log out.

Like most people, I've always been too lazy and unmotivated to spend ages tinkering with linux distros, and in fairness Windows 7 isn't too bad stalk-wise. But now I think it will be worth seriously considering linux next time I upgrade, especially as these distros are becoming easier to install and maintain and I gather driver support has markedly improved.

But now I think it will be worth seriously considering linux next time I upgrade, especially as these distros are becoming easier to install and maintain and I gather driver support has markedly improved.

I've got a dual boot Windows 7/Ubuntu desktop PC and linux is so much quicker. Unless I need Windows specific apps I'll let Ubuntu load up.
