Why shouldn't they? They've done nothing wrong. Let's face it, most families have that one member that embraces jihad and strikes a devastating blow at the very heart of the most powerful nation the world has ever seen, but that doesn't make the rest of them bad people.

Well, members of the bin Laden family were allowed to fly out of the USA on a private aircraft in the days immediately after 9-11 when all non-military flights were supposedly grounded. I have no doubt they visit the USA on a fairly regular basis, as they have extensive involvements with big business there and, no doubt, with certain government agencies.

You don't give them visa because should anything happen involving airplane crash and their name, then there would be lots of questions asked about how fooking incompetent those who let them in the first place. I sure hope questions will be raised about why were they here in the first place in an airplane, their wealth counts against them in this case in my view because it just means they can easily get another airplane that can be directed into some building in center of London. Why take chances?

btw, there are plenty of completely innoncent people who get even visitor visa refusals to this country.

Except it's a myth which has been debunked.

Bin Laden family flight - 911myths

The flight in question occurred over a week later, after restrictions had been lifted for several days. So they were "allowed" to charter a flight - in pretty much the same way as anybody else could have been allowed to do on 19th Sept 2001

Damn truth, getting in the way of a good story

Anyway, even without that I still don't understand why AtW thinks people who just happen to be related, not necessarily even that closely, to a criminal should be punished for his crimes

I did not say punished. I said they should not be able to get visa to most of the Western world. It's a priviledge to be able to visit this and other countries, not a right - visa ban is not a punishment.

They don't have any right to be in UK since they are not UK citizens and UK can deny visa to anybody (which it does every day to people who in no way could be as potentially dangerous as them).

Do you think they got US visas? This would probably have to be approved by the President himself.
