The meaning of the term contractor has changed

In the 90s all the contractors used to be the top end boys that had mastered their game and decided to earnus maximillius. We turned down lucrative permie offers.

Now, contractoes are basically temps. They couldn't get decent permie jobs if they tried. Rates are not that good either.

Consultancy is a different game. Going into a project at the start, talking to the board, etc. That is not what 95% of contractors are doing.

Contracting should really be called temping. In fact, starting from today that what's I'm going to call the contractors I work with, just to let them know who the big boy is here.

      Whose sockie is this ?
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

OP, when I said 'up your game' I didn't mean like this...
"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
        - Voltaire/Benjamin Franklin/Anne Frank...

Because it's obvious now that you ARE a sockie.
