Reduction to 18% in 2020 - just in time for newly elected Liebor Govt to return it back to 28%

    It's only fair.

More likely prices go up. And what keeps this inflation powered? More debt & peoples acceptance of the fact that their savings are being watered down while they sleep. And funnily enough, the ery people who just save and don't 'make their money work for them' to at least protect from this (although their money *should* be growing in real terms), are the same people that this living wage is supposed to help.

This living wage is supposed to help Osborne become next PM.

That would be the perfect trap if you knew you were going to lose the next election
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

I wonder if the minimum wage thing was done to bring more people into the 20% bracket, and thereby increasing tax receipts back into the govts. coffers?

Very astute reasoning. It does appear that all is not as it seems. I did see something on employers NI, is that still paid.

See this move screws my other tax mitigation which is having a retail business which makes a loss. When you add a plan B which makes a loss by paying your spouse against your personal income especially when you pay permit tax, the losses are offset against your income to reduce, so you can claim tax you paid as a permit back.

Now because of the living wage I would have to pay all of my wobbly wobbly old ladies more, which means that the business probably would make a proper loss, not an engineered one. Fookers.

This is what I said in the pub last night. All you're going to do is push jobs down to the under 25s. But with the education change where kids have to stay in education until they're 18 and have some basic qualifications, it means you'll have more younger highly educated shop workers and road sweepers who won't be able to get a job after 25 as they've been replaced. Meanwhile pensioners or those coming up for retirement who need to top up their income won't be hired and will be fooked because they couldn't build a decent pension.

Its going to solve youth unemployment though.

Who cares what happens in 7 years time? Just worry about getting elected in 2020.
