No we don't. Those of us that want to fit in and be accepted as part of Britain water down our accents and culture so that we are more easily understood and fit in better. It's those that don't want to fit in (for example, those Brits in Spain that are proud to have lived there for 20 years and never learned a word of Spanish) that tend to exaggerate their accents and cultures.Originally posted by d000hg View PostIt's fairly well understood that minority groups tend to (unconsciously, mostly) exaggerate accents, culture, etc. I imagine that happens even more when you're not that widely liked/accepted.Comment

Ah yes feminism, the farce of the 20th and 21st centuries. Feminist should oppose feminism first than move onto something else.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostHaving a chat with anyone selling the Socialist Worker should disabuse you of that notion. Or a UKIPper for that matter...
I think the wearing of burqa's in public is not an exercise of freedom of choice, nor about modesty in dress, but rather a statement in favour of a nasty, oppressive, misogynistic interpretation of Islam. https://newhumanist.org.uk/articles/...pose-the-burqaMcCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

It's not a weird interpretation of Islam, it's going back to their roots and like you saying rejecting modern western societySocialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Is it a Burqa or a Niqab?

There is nothing in the Koran to say that women must wear burqas. The only text says that a women should dress modestly. There is even on passage to say that if a boob pops out, the woman should discreetly pop it back into her clothing.
Wearing burqa is just made up by people who believe that going one step further makes themselves more pure just as church going Christians do."A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George OrwellComment
