Disks do eventually wear out but be careful they're not taking the piss. Get them to show you.
Disks need replacing when they are visibly marked, pitted, etc. Like a CD with grooves in it
Trouble is if you stick new pads on a crap disk it'll just chew up the pads.
I had a Kia Sedona once. Nationwide garages fitted new disks - two weeks later pads gone, disks have warped. So they changed them. Same again. Blamed me for driving it too hard with new disks - its a 7 seater family "bus" FFS! In the end, had to kick off with head office -refunded the lot in the end and got disks for me from dealer for free.
Morale of the story - make sure decent disks are fitted or its major hassle.
