They all bleat on about the poor and the NHS and the public services yet none of them give a toss about whether the public services actually work for the benefit of those that use them.
The wealthy are "left leaning" simply because they want to be seen as kind and generous. In reality they are nothing of the sort.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

They are not Socialists they are statists. Wealth and privilege give them access to power and from there the ability to boss us around.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostI am afraid it makes them hypocrites because the whole way they present their ideology is to redistribute wealth under the control of the state. If you attack your opponents because they are rich and privileged you can't really be that yourself, hence 'champagne socialist'.Originally posted by Unix View PostBeing rich doesn't mean you can't have a left leaning political stance.
As mentioned before much of what we now regard as the NHS was at the gift of rich capitalists who wanted to give back. Any one of these rich lefties could start charitable organisations but most of them seem to do so to avoid tax ask phoney tony?Comment

Not at all surprising of course.Originally posted by Flashman View PostGreat article even if depressing.
Nor is the rampant hypocrisy of them attacking the Tories for having some who are wealthy. For that matter at least the Tories are honest about being pro wealth (at least in theory).Comment
