so instead of providing reasons to stay in the eu, pro eu campaigners resort to calling anyone who questions the EU this, that and the other.

Makes you think there may be no good reasons for staying

We need to become fully integrated into a federal United States of Europe modelled on the US, either that or abandon the whole thing, this halfway house is going to lead to pain.

It doesn't make much difference. Either the UK stays in the EU or they leave and sign up to the single market.

The only difference is the UK gets sent the new EU regulations by post.

However if someone wants to get into the UK then passport checks have to be done.

If however UK immigration, the Home Office, is too useless to utilise current software and have processes in place to catch those who have committed recent criminal activity it isn't Poland, Germany or France's fault - it is the UK governments.
Not wishing to get into the guts of this argument, but that is just simply not true.

My passport is checked every time I enter the UK...https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control/at-border-control or maybe you know better?

At the passport desk a Border Force officer will ask to see your passport or travel document and any supporting documentation necessary for your visit.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I've re entered the UK on at least 20 occasions in the last 15 years without having my passport checked. In the last five years, I've crossed in and out of EU countries (mainly Switzerland to Italy), also without having my passport checked. So, if you want to enter the UK illegally, rather than cling to the underside of a lorry, you could try jumping on the back of a motorcycle and getting the ferry from Rotterdam to Hull on the Monday following a bike racing event at Assen or come over from Calais to Dover on the weekend of a France Scotland rugby match. Just because you have your passport checked when you fly in, doesn't mean everyone entering the UK has theirs checked (they clearly don't).

Strange that then as every time I drive to the UK whether it be cross channel ferry, the chunnel, ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle or plane I've been checked along with passengers and so has every car in front of and behind me me. Maybe the government website is lying...As for Switzerland to Italy and within the EU then that's irrelevant

Switzerland doesn't have any passport control anymore. They're in Schengen.

They only do occasional customs checks.

I've also had my passport checked entering the UK by various means, but the point is that it doesn't ALWAYS happen. The two examples I gave above are examples of when it didn't on plenty of occasions. I make these trips once or twice a year (particularly the Assen one). Maybe the government website is lying LOL. Really ? Do you think that might be possible ? Really ?

Of course the website isn't lying but it goes to show that the Border Agency are obviously not doing their job properly. In other words they could be allowing illegal immigrants / criminals / terrorists / etc. through a legitimate channel when they could be stopped. For all we know you could be one and theoretically the law was broken when your passport was not reviewed
