It doesn't make much difference. Either the UK stays in the EU or they leave and sign up to the single market.

The only difference is the UK gets sent the new EU regulations by post.

That means Poland, Germany and France are allowed to manage the borders between them as they wish.

However if someone wants to get into the UK then passport checks have to be done.

If however UK immigration, the Home Office, is too useless to utilise current software and have processes in place to catch those who have committed recent criminal activity it isn't Poland, Germany or France's fault - it is the UK governments.

At the passport desk a Border Force officer will ask to see your passport or travel document and any supporting documentation necessary for your visit.

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I've re entered the UK on at least 20 occasions in the last 15 years without having my passport checked. In the last five years, I've crossed in and out of EU countries (mainly Switzerland to Italy), also without having my passport checked. So, if you want to enter the UK illegally, rather than cling to the underside of a lorry, you could try jumping on the back of a motorcycle and getting the ferry from Rotterdam to Hull on the Monday following a bike racing event at Assen or come over from Calais to Dover on the weekend of a France Scotland rugby match. Just because you have your passport checked when you fly in, doesn't mean everyone entering the UK has theirs checked (they clearly don't).

Switzerland doesn't have any passport control anymore. They're in Schengen.

They only do occasional customs checks.

Of course the website isn't lying but it goes to show that the Border Agency are obviously not doing their job properly. In other words they could be allowing illegal immigrants / criminals / terrorists / etc. through a legitimate channel when they could be stopped. For all we know you could be one and theoretically the law was broken when your passport was not reviewed
