You are aware that the UK does not control the sovereignty of other nations and no longer has an Empire?

That means Poland, Germany and France are allowed to manage the borders between them as they wish.

However if someone wants to get into the UK then passport checks have to be done.

If however UK immigration, the Home Office, is too useless to utilise current software and have processes in place to catch those who have committed recent criminal activity it isn't Poland, Germany or France's fault - it is the UK governments.

Right, the Pole and the Latvian I mentioned got as far as they did via freedom of movement, the Latvian actually got here and murdered a young girl. Our criminal databases are not hooked up with Latvia or Poland. You'd think that would have been put in place BEFORE opening up the borders, right? However, there is no law in place which says we can pick and chose who can and cannot come in. You still with me?

Now, under freedom of movement, no-one manages borders. Passports maybe checked, but passports don't hold a criminal record. But you see, under Freedom of movement laws we cannot disallow criminals from coming here. That would be against their EU 'uman rights.

Does that all compute or do I need to word it in such a manner that you can sing it in time with "The Internationale"?

Freedom of movement doesn't mean passports and ID documents aren't checked to get into the UK and Ireland.

You have heard of the Schengen agreement I presume?

The UK and Ireland aren't part of this Schengen agreement. So it means if anyone who is a EU citizen decides to go to the UK from a Schengen area country like France their passport will be checked.

Passports are linked to computer systems such as Schengen Information System. However the UK Home Office has decided they are too cheap/incompetent/stupid* to use it to flag up EU criminals and stop them entering the UK.
