Since I was the client in this scenario I didn't care if the dev was remote in Manchester, on Mars or a beach in Mauritius, the deliverables were there on time to quality and communications got a prompt response.
Of course some managers can't cope with remote resources and some resources can't work remotely, but that's their problem.

And permies usually get insanely jealous, more so than usual but imho, if you can trust the worker whether perm or contract, this is the way it should be going. I doubt we will ever get to that state generally though, too many lazy and jealous people about.

I go on holiday with my family to spend quality time relaxing together and enjoying each others company.
My family would be quite annoyed If I spent our holiday bloody working!

I work to live - NOT the other way round.
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

            Thanks anyway

Look, I posted for ideas, not a lecture on taking holiday vs working.

In case you didn't know, the school summer holidays are coming up and I thought it would be nice for my family to have a holiday for a few weeks where I can work in the mornings and spend time with them in the afternoons. My Wife is not in the best of health and so it would be good for her to be somewhere warm. She isn't well enough to take the kids by herself, so having me on-hand to help out would be a real help to her.

This is over and above other holidays we take during the year, so please, unless you have some good ideas of holiday hotels with decent WIFI, keep your your preaching to yourselves.

Can anyone recommend a good family hotel in the Canaries, Balearics or mainland Spain with really good WIFI that's available in the bedrooms or in a business centre as opposed to in the lobby, which is too noisy to do conference calls from?

              Thanks
Sorry, is this the 1990s. Every room has Wifi.

Actually not all hotels have good WIFI.

All the more reason not to be working on holiday in my book.

Hi. Don't have a direct recommendation as such, but wondering if something from www.wifivox.com would fit the bill?
