Surely not approving of gay marriage doesn't make you homophobic, hating gay people does? "Homophobe" is a term people love to use like "climate change denier" to suggest you are hateful, rather than that you politely disagree.

A few years ago a French footballer left my local club and signed for a team in Qatar. He was arrested for walking down the street hand-in-hand with his girlfriend and giving her a kiss on the cheek in public.

Ah, I suppose so. I tend to find "cultural religion" is far more full of hate, probably because those involved don't actually believe or practice what the religion teaches, but use it to make themselves feel better than those around them.

Exactly, their religion teaches them that homosexuality should be punished with death and they weren't suggesting that, hypocrites!
