Preferably someone not creepy. And not involved in the last Labour government.

Labours problem now is if they go back to the centre right they will be a crapy version of the Tories so why vote for them. If they go left they will lose touch with middle classes even more the Miliband did. If the tories manage to get the deficit down and keep the economy growing, more jobs etc then I can't see Labour getting in for decades. If I was English I would have voted Tory, the deficit needs sorting out and so does welfare.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostPreferably someone not creepy. So the answer is, it doesn't matter. -
....
It doesn't matter who leads. If you go back to the basics of politics, oppositions do not win elections, governments lose them.Comment

If Labour have any sense Liz Kendall. If they don't Yvette Cooper or Andy Burnham...
However its probably irrelevant. With Scotland utterly lost to the SNP there isn't enough seats left for them that they could plausibly win...merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

In work welfare is rising because of the low paid jobs, which are supported by Tax credits.

Both he and Mandelson acknowledged that Labour did not appeal to the aspirational middle class voter. Mandelson specifically mentioned small businesses - he used a plumber as an example, and said Labour need to do more for them.Comment
