Is losing to a Labour minority government the best outcome for the Tories?

This seems to be the only real outcome unless the polls are very misleading - the Tories just don't have enough friends with the ABC nastiness going on.

But, there seem to be real divisions between Labour/SNP - SNP might allow Labour to get into power but it looks like that would leave a very fragile setup in place, which might not last long and could trigger another general election in short order.

Should that happen, surely Labour would get more flak from the public than the Tories for being the ones "who let it happen" and this could in turn lead to a Tory majority.

    Reasonable or ridiculous?

WHS. Sensible thoughts are not your forte. Stick to something simpler that you can understand.

        It's certainly a possibility.

The public isn't likely to view a short life parliament with a minority party that big bits of the UK has no reason to trust holding them up as a good thing. Whether that would then lead to a majority government after a re-run is anyone's guess.

I can't see a Labour government of any form when they have lost 40 MPs in Scotland.

They need to win a lot of English constituencies just to stand still let alone start gaining seats...

Don't believe for a minute that Milipede won't do a deal with the SNP. He gets to be PM with the help of the SNP.

The flip side is that Cameron gets back in and Milipede loses his job. He may not admit to doing deals but you can bet your life his people will be talking to the SNP's people to agree to concessions.

So if you two dullards think it's daft, it's probably a reasonable analysis. Thanks

SNP voters, Con voters, even UKIP voters I can understand , but who the **** would trust millipede to run a govt?

Must be the utmost cretins voting Labour after the last lot of Labour s pretty much destroyed the UK in everyway....

Reasonable. If Cameron gets more votes, but we end up with Milliband in Number 10 after a back room deal with nationalist nutters (SNP, not UKIP) then this could be the most unpopular government in recent history.

I think it's unlikely it'd collapse, though it may guarantee a Tory majority in 5 years.

But if Cameron doesn't become PM chances are he'll stand down, and then who will be the next Tory PM?
