In the first TV debate, Farage argued that the immigrants weren't primarily coming here for benefits but for jobs. He pretty much said "I don't blame them, I'd do the same in their position" and I think it's a fair point. In the same way people used to travel to London for "streets paved with gold".

I've seen little from the SNP to suggest that. I may not particularly like them, but they don't seem as hostile to it as Labour. Or has that changed?Comment

Ignorance, wilful or otherwise, rational or otherwise, is pretty broadly dispersed in the population but nice little attempt at an anti UKIP jab. The fact of the matter is that none of the parties are particularly clear on how they view contractors, least of all what the SNP's position would be if it supported a Labour govt. They've not spelled out any plans against it but as with any party, their attitude may well change come the new govt. I think self interest alone will prevent most parties from clamping down on it, especially given Scotland's reliance on the oil industry.Comment

We're a pretty small part of the workforce so not really a big issue. Even when parties want to make a big deal on tax avoidance, they aren't focusing specifically on contractors... definitely not IT contractors.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
