Oh dear, surely no-one would ever think that sainted organisation so famous for improving the lot of contractors would fail in securing us an advantageous deal? I'm sure the "Opt Out" has proven to be such a plus and IR35 has been comprehensively defeated!!!!

In two years time, you'll be running an 'FLC' with marginally better tax advantages than IR35 itself.
Not me. The reason why I'm spending less time here is that I'm moving up the food chain and above such trifling matters....

The Opt Out is actually irrelevant and the solution blindingly obvious. As has been said many times

IR35 isn't going away, ever: that has been made very clear. The trick is to manage the risk correctly. There is enough information out there to understand your position and enough support to make it largely an annoyance, if you bother to learn what being a contractor entails and how to operate outside IR35. (hint: agencies will help here if you play ball with the opt out...).

If they can do the same for Staples I am in.

Greasy pole climber! Good on you Eek, wise move. The Gov (HMRC, whatever) have been getting all their ducks in a row for years.

Me neither. I've only contracted about 50% of the time for the last few years and even then it's mostly been from home. I can guarantee that I won't ever be an FLC. UK based contractors will though.

Re ISA. If they do stop them they won't be asking for the interest gained from the last 10 years.

I don't understand - what does "play ball with the opt out..." mean?

                      >Ed's snub to self employed
He hates it. Sturgeon detests it. Goes against their underlying Marxist beliefs.

                      "proletarianization
This label is applied to the process by which
sections of the middle class become absorbed into the working class."

"In Marxism, proletarianization is the social process whereby people move from being either an employer,
unemployed or self-employed, to being employed as wage labor by an employer. In Marxist theory,
proletarianization is often seen as the most important form of downward social mobility."

"proletarian - a member of the working class ..workers of the world--unite!"

Time to open a new self employed venture methinks - a porn production company in Glasgow.
