Ah. Good guess, I guess. Care to adduce any evidence to support your guess? Or does your guess just happen to come up with a result that coincides with what you want to believe, and you guess that's all the evidence one needs?Originally posted by unixman View PostIn the last 6 or 7 years I guess.Comment

ITV wont run with a TV show dedicated to cars on primetime like Top Gear was not shown on BBC 1, Channel 4 don't have 2 coins to rub together, likewise channel 5. Has anyone ever watched a program on SKY1?
It is game over for the chaps.
The production and the level of investment in the program Top Gear is what made the show.Comment

There's still Top Gear USA, Top Gear Australia, Top Gear Russia, Top Gear South Korea, Top Gear China and Top Gear France if you still want to watch it

Nice to see some actual evidence appearing amidst the swamp of opinions declaimed as fact
IIRC, one explanation suggested at the time Guido obtained those figures was that the Grauniad was the paper where most media job ads were published. I used to read the Media supplement every Monday, having worked in broadcasting and such, and even Sky advertised their jobs there rather than, or at least in addition to, in Murdoch's papers.
It would be interesting if somebody repeated that FoI request now, when most such advertising has vanished because of online recruiting, and there isn't even a Media supplement any more. With that factor eliminated, maybe the figures now would be different. Or maybe not. Any volunteers to put in the FoI request? Or do I have to do everything myself?Comment

Bloody left wing bias. Actually most of the people I have ever met who worked at the BBC were middle class Tory voters, mind you that was a long time ago...Could the BBC be any more left-wing? First they employ loads of Tories, and then they're caught chillaxing in Cameron's kitchen - Comment - Voices - The Independent“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
I would like to know the quantity, by title, of copies of each
national newspaper purchased by the BBC in the most recent year for
which figures are available.
Yours faithfully,
etc.
Ought to have a response by 27th April, apparently

Lol. Oh yes. BBC news editor Mark Thompson assaulted a subordinate by biting while they worked on the Nine O'clock News. Like Clarkeson, he admitted the assault. Unlike Clarkeson, he went on to become Director General of the BBC.Originally posted by MicrosoftBob View PostUnless you're going to be Director General of the BBC of course
The victim immediately reported the incident. While he was considering a formal complaint, BBC chiefs sent him to Rwanda, and hushed up the story, until it surfaced in a leaked Paxman email years later.
The day I was bitten by BBC boss - News - London Evening Standard
The Guardian took a surprisingly lenient view, describing the assault as "hijinks", and the bite (which left a minor injury) as a "gesture", and helpfully explaining the whole episode away as "horseplay".
Man bites man, and that man is now the BBC DG | Media | The Guardian
I am not saying Mark Thompson should have been sacked, just laughing at the way objective opinion takes a back seat sometimes.Comment
