I believe it has actually been repeated several times. The BBC have made a strong defence of the figures, with some statistical insights. That defence has been effectively dismantled by opposing commentators. -
Why not they should have made him Director General to show their not biased, that would have taken the bite out of itOriginally posted by SueEllen View PostSo say the beeb ignored what JC did. So next time he breaks a producer's arm. Would that be fine?
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Playground rules apply.
Clarkeson has to stand there while Tymon knees him in the cubes as hard as possible.Comment

Only if JC had done it in the early 00's.Originally posted by MicrosoftBob View PostWhy not they should have made him Director General to show their not biased, that would have taken the bite out of it
Now after Savile et al they have to be seen to come down hard on talent that abuses other people.
The producer could have sued the beeb with all that evidence that they like hiding abuse of their workers. The rest of the media would have enjoyed it immensely."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Erm, 1988 actually. Fortunately some progress has been made in the intervening quarter-century.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostOnly if JC had done it in the early 00's.My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.Comment

The links you provided to reputable sources make your post much more convincing than mere assertion that amounts to nothing more than repeating your views, phrased in such a way as to give the impression of being a statement of fact.Originally posted by unixman View PostI believe it has actually been repeated several times. Check Google yourself. If you had done that before your first rolleyeyes "foi" post, you wouldn't have looked so ridiculous after pjclarke's response.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostThe links you provided to reputable sources...Comment

You made the claims, it's for you to provide proof. Why should we waste time hunting for sources when you burble something?Originally posted by unixman View PostCheck Google yourself. And I was well aware of Guido's FoI request, thank you, but again it wasn't my responsibility to go hunting for a link to it.Comment

Well if you recall Top Gear actually became Fifth Gear with Tiff Needell,, Quentin Wilson et all - and then I think they bought in VBH and some other totty.Originally posted by minestrone View PostTop Gear will return to the same ratings.
Clarkson is just repeating the standard workplace delusion of "if I leave they will be ****ed".
However I rarely watch that because it is a bit sh!t.
Therefore I do think Top Gear as a thing looses a large part of it's appeal without the Ape.
But having said that the beeb have done the only thing they could do in the circumstances.Comment
