Someone mentioned that a double bird-strike was unlikely. But this is about the time of year countless millions of birds, including flocks of large geese, are migrating back north to Europe over the alps.

Autopilot engaged
Fell asleep
Accidently nudged stick forward in sleep- autopilot disengage - only a short tone not a warning is produced. Low alt warning probably too late as pilots groggy.

Cabin crew not aware until too late due to steady descent and cockpit door is locked due to terror threat.

Don't they have at least two people in the cockpit? I'd have thought in an industry as paranoid about safety as aero, falling asleep would not be something that can down a major airliner?

It seems highly unlikely both pilots would nod off in a quick (hour long?) up-and-over flight of a mere 700 miles as the crow flies.
