That is not strictly accurate, in polls 60% plus of Englanshirers wanted Scotland to stay in the UK.

There is no country that recognises Scotland as a country, likewise there is no country that recognises England as country.

To the EU we are provinces.

I am more than happy that we remain in a little fantasy where all remain a nation with Wales in this group of 'countries' called Great Britain.

There was a real intimidation of business by the SNP and nationalists over the whole debate, promises of a "day of reckoning" after independence to any business that stood out against the SNP's proposals.

The SNP were phoning companies up asking directors for their views, sane minded people were just keeping their heads down and voting no privately.

No because that is not the definition of a country. Scotland is a country it is just a member of a larger union, are you saying Germany isn't a country because it's part of Europe?
