Basing your whole economy on Oil, without having a massive cash reserves as the more seasoned "players" like the Norway and the Middle east, can have a catastrophic results as evident by the current state of the Russian Economy.

ScottishGovernment - News - NHS Scotland pay rise

NHS staff in Scotland are to benefit from an independently recommended pay rise in 2015/16, thanks to changes agreed by the Scottish Government.

From 1 April 2015, NHS staff in Scotland will receive, for the second year in a row, a one per cent consolidated pay uplift - while staff earning under £21,000 will also receive an additional sum to increase their pay by at least £300.
