              yes but for years he lived in a subsidised council house whilst earning £150k a year, I assume his family still live there.

              he is not the only famous person to do so, he was just the most high profile and publicly arrogant one to do so.

                  Not even close. Those on super-high earnings would still consider it worth it for the substantial savings, and those in the regular "higher tax bracket" range mostly just pay their tax anyway.

                      I would have no problem paying tax if it were spent effectively This foreign aid law is an expensive stunt - Telegraph

                      It is particularly revealing that left wing commentators that bang on about taxing people more never ever demand that tax be spent properly. Which is why so many public services are privatised to monopoly holding corporates.
                      The service is transferred from a public monopoly to a private one that usually delivers a better though far from decent service.
