    Explain.

You have obviously decided that wars are decided by cost. Clearly WW2 was far more expensive in terms of both human life and hard cash. You have also stated that whilst there is a dispute about sovereignty the incumbent population should "move out". I see similar parallels with regards to Alsace and Lorraine. Why didn't the French just hand them over and repatriate those people who did not want to remain?

      No, I have not.

      No, I have not.

      HTH.

Oh yes you have Falklands. Easy. Relocate the islanders to an equivalent Scottish Island. Give them £1,000,000 each. Would have worked out (a lot) cheaper.

I don't see how you can support the right to self determination, then forcibly evacuate people to a remote Scottish Island.

And I don't see how you can criticise a Vulcan bombing Port Stanley runway on the grounds of it's fuel cost and the fact that it did little damage. I guess you only support the high damage military action.

That's another Green policy. You are only allowed to be in the government if you have the 'correct' belief system.

So you might be the most effective minister of education ever, but if you don't believe everything that greenpeace says, you lose your job

Ah, and here comes the abuse and lies. Only a matter of time.

To expand - the original question was how would the UK fight a war like the Falklands if the armed forces are radically scaled down as proposed by the Green Party. My response is that the war was disproportionately costly in lives and money and an alternative, peaceful and diplomatic solution would be sought with Argentina. The Falklanders 'right' to self-determination is totally dependent on Britain paying for their defence, and there are other, better priorities for that £1,000 per UK household/£1 million per Islander. Our Armed Forces also have a right not to be killed in a futile war.

In reality this would mean Argentinian sovereignty. Tough on the islanders, perhaps, but they would be no less British in say, the Inner Hebrides, and nobody has to die.

Never mind the islanders, what about all the oil they've discovered around The Falklands? Surely you're not suggesting we give that to the Argies are you?

Surely it's only reasonable that you can only be an MP for a political party if you agree with their core principles and beliefs?
