I was talking more about govt than MP, but the point is the same.
A party usually has a broad range of opinion, from wet to hawk etc.
Some people might even harbour beliefs that they don't publicise, but sacking someone for beliefs that have nothing to do with their portfolio is absurd

To expand - the original question was how would the UK fight a war like the Falklands if the armed forces are radically scaled down as proposed by the Green Party. My response is that the war was disproportionately costly in lives and money and an alternative, peaceful and diplomatic solution would be sought with Argentina. The Falklanders 'right' to self-determination is totally dependent on Britain paying for their defence, and there are other, better priorities for that £1,000 per UK household/£1 million per Islander. Our Armed Forces also have a right not to be killed in a futile war.

In reality this would mean Argentinian sovereignty. Tough on the islanders, perhaps, but they would be no less British in say, the Inner Hebrides, and nobody has to die.
So with the Green party's commitment to no growth in the economy (which would mean contraction)the only war that we could ever fight would one where both sides agreed to use only spears and axes.

So what if the Argies then decided that they wanted to expand their imperial claims and request sovereignty over other parts of the UK? Of course the Greens will have spent all their defence budget on recycled spears made from recycled rubbish. These of course would be hopeless as the Greens are useless at the one job they should be good at - recycling https://notesbrokensociety.wordpress...hton-and-hove/

The Argies would probably find that by the time they got here with a refurbished Belgrano and an old Messerschmitt left over by fleeing Nazis from world war two that the Russians had beaten them to it Green Party leader Natalie Bennett: 'Putin has to walk away with something from Ukraine talks' - General Election 2015 - UK Politics - The Independent

Knowing Putin I am sure he would want considerably more than some bird bearing rock off the Scottish coast

My guess is that those Russian bombers flying off the coast of Cornwall last week don't bother PJ in the slightest.

I'm glad you weren't around 75 years ago.

And yes DA is right to bring up other historical events as things don't happen in isolation.

You're wrong, he's ******* livid! Just image all the greenhouse gases they were emitting.

I think you will find that climate change is a "smokescreen" to gain credibility in order to pursue other agendas.

Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Did you actually see those bombers flying off the coast of Cornwall last week or did you just read about it in the MSM?
