    Do you mean the square bit to the East of Newcastle, 40,000 km to the East that is, or the same one immediately to the West of Newcastle?

        That's the bit I was on about yes. Not to be confused with the soggy maritime bits which don't have any people in either.

        Incidently, my picture has that dark box extending all the way to the central belt of Scotland. Are there many car show rooms in the borders? If there are then the OP might be on to something?

          There's a West Cumberland Farmers tractor showroom at Tarset and you can buy remote controlled cars from a bloke in Selkirk, but I don't think they count.

            In answer to your question not many.. As a quick test look at Search Vauxhall Dealers | Local Car & Van dealerships - Vauxhall Motors UK

            and note the gapping large gap between Alnwick and Musselburgh.

            Then do the same for Gretna Green....
