try making the most recent a paragraph, the first one just a sentence

Assuming any of it is real (which I don't believe for a milisecond) then why on earth would anyone reading CV's give a stuff about stuff 17 years old?
For that matter anything much past 5 years old is irrelevant, probably out of date, out of practice and unlikely to be of interest beyond light background.

If you really are that dim that you honestly think anyone reading CV's for a role will consider stuff in the distant past then you're even more of an oxygen thief than I thought you were.

Er no Ted. Past 18 months is verbose ish then it goes one liners for a couple of years then just names and dates after that.

In the area that I work in, stuff that I did 17 years ago is still relevant and in some cases I might be the only person still alive doing it so it gets me some work. As for over 5 years, once again, its still very relevant in my field but I would agree that if you're doing BA/PM/non-techie or new fangled tulip, then yes, it probably isn't relevant. One persons CV maybe a minefield of useless information to the customer but another may be a treasure trove...

Hang on past 18 months is verbose. The past 18 months would be this contract plus part of the previous one. It wouldn't cover the previous contract or the years as a permie....

I think we know the problem here (note I've not visited your website to see your CV in its infamy). Any CV featuring a lot of short-term roles is going to be a hard sell as (shorthand) no longer term roles = crap.

People don't believe the logic that you go in, fix a project and leave as most people believe companies work on the basis that when they identify decent contractors they try and keep them... Heck I can't remember a single contract where I haven't been offered a renewal...

Try subliminal messaging, it seems to work for me. I sometimes spell out a message for the client in the first letters of each sentence or paragraph. Try it

For niche stuff Darmstadt that's possible, but for the rest what I said is the reality.

In truth most people hiring for a role will read the first page of the shortlisted, the first few pages of those interviewed and maybe read in detail for someone they want to offer to after a meeting.

Of course the whole "Suity CV" tale is just another chapter in his fantasy list of made up bollocks.

I have long term gigs on my CV as a contractor. Just not recently (past 18 months). Honestly the gigs were 3 months and that's it. Honest. On the odd occasion I managed to get a months extension and listed that.

All the time it's clients short on cash. Am I just unlucky, that I am working for the clients that have limited budgets and you work for clients with deeper pockets?

It is very, very disheartening to hear from you that you think my CV is unsellable, especially while I may lose the farm before long.

Did you never hear the expression if you've nothing nice to say then say nothing?

If it's a choice of stretching the truth vs losing the farm then my hand may well be forced. I will stick with the gospel truth until the end of the month though.

Then we can slowly apply the brushstrokes of bulltulip until I either get a gig or the worse scenario happens.
