Permies constantly joking about contractors being rich

One client a while ago now was a bit off. All the permies seemed to watch contractors like a hawk to pick up what they were doing. Seemed to be a bit of a brownie point thing if you got to dob in a contractor. Really stupid things - they'd notice EXACTLY how long you had for lunch, how many phone calls per day you took, how often you mentioned non-work related stuff, and they'd constantly be looking over checking what web site you were on. Pathetic it was.

I had this once - I then asked manager of said permies in front of his manager whether they were paid to monitor what I was doing on a daily basis and maybe if they spent more time doing their jobs and less time trying to find a reason to moan about the contractor they may actually get some fookin work done and possibly not even need to bring in an 'expensive' contractor

I take a basic of £30K . The rest depends upon how profitable the business is.. the figure over the last 1 18 years has varied between another £40K and even up to £300k ! I would say on average I have earned about £120K over those years.
