The last time I changed a fuse, it didn't make any difference - it was the freezer on the other end of the wire that was brokenOriginally posted by BigTime View PostThat's a redundant skill. When did you last need to replace a fuse? I can't remember.

The trip switches kick in before fuses blow. They'll get rid of them eventually. Sorry to hear about your freezer.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostThe last time I changed a fuse, it didn't make any difference - it was the freezer on the other end of the wire that was broken

The only time any of that EVER matters, is if it happens to be the fuse on your googling device that's blown. Then suicide is the only way out.Originally posted by original PM View PostYeah I think the problem is we are talking about the generation who would struggle to replace a fuse in a plug (in fact who would actually say what is a fuse) or those that cannot do the basics like cook an omelette - generally a huge swath of people who would probably starve to death if left alone for more then 4 days.Comment

I would like a gun, water, tined food and baby wipes. But if things get that bad I don't want to last long.Comment

You would struggle as well if you had an one of the many appliances that now tell you not to mess with the plug in the instructions and have a sealed on plug which you can't take apart.Originally posted by original PM View PostYeah I think the problem is we are talking about the generation who would struggle to replace a fuse in a plug (in fact who would actually say what is a fuse) or those that cannot do the basics like cook an omelette - generally a huge swath of people who would probably starve to death if left alone for more then 4 days.
In regards to cooking an omelette it's probably safer to know how to boil water using different appliances and use a microwave properly - otherwise how are you going to cook noodles?"You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
