That's a redundant skill. When did you last need to replace a fuse? I can't remember.

The last time I changed a fuse, it didn't make any difference - it was the freezer on the other end of the wire that was broken

The trip switches kick in before fuses blow. They'll get rid of them eventually. Sorry to hear about your freezer.

And if the only thing between you and the zombie apocalypse is a broken fuse then you are fooked!

It was about eight years ago. I'm slowly coming to terms with it

The only time any of that EVER matters, is if it happens to be the fuse on your googling device that's blown. Then suicide is the only way out.

I still keep a yellow pages or thomsons local under the stairs. Along with wind up torches.

I would like a gun, water, tined food and baby wipes. But if things get that bad I don't want to last long.

You would struggle as well if you had an one of the many appliances that now tell you not to mess with the plug in the instructions and have a sealed on plug which you can't take apart.

In regards to cooking an omelette it's probably safer to know how to boil water using different appliances and use a microwave properly - otherwise how are you going to cook noodles?
