Basically they are saying can live your life following Islamic law if you wish, however UK law will always superceed it

Does UK law make NO distinction between someone you're married to and someone you're not? It's not (that) long ago that the whole concept of rape with marriage even being possible was still debated, hard as it is to imagine. What I wonder is the situation if your spouse loses their marbles?

the guy wants to have sex with his disabled wife whether she wants it or not and he believes that is his right

which is effectively like him saying it is his right to rape his wife.

and he legitimises this saying his religion allows it.

so this is not an islamaphobe rant but an observation that says Islam permits rape

It's an observation that someone says Islam permits rape, so he can do it. It doesn't mean Islam definitely teaches that.

Not really - it's an observation that a follower of Islam believes Islam permits rape. In much the same way that followers of all sorts of religions believe religion permits all sorts of not nice things.

WTF is a Christian Culture? You mean like eating fish on Friday?

No. Muslim culture would be the way Muslims tend to behave, or consider normal, which is not actually bound by what their religion teaches - though it would in reality be influenced by it of course.

Catholic culture is probably closest in the UK although not as strong. Like not eating meat on Friday, interest in superstition and the occult, and other things which get tagged as associated with Catholicism but aren't actually part of the religion at all.
