You need to get one of those anal hydration units popular with the CIAOriginally posted by EternalOptimist View Postwhat are you on about? beer is not meant to be tasted, its meant to be gulped.
All beer tastes pretty horrible, but the aftertaste is quite nice.
a proper beer glass would have a little device on to pinch yer nose closed while you gulp, so you definitely don't taste it.
In fact, that's such a good idea I might invent it myself, do a business plan then win the apprentice next year.

No. you're supposed to sit at a table on your own with a half-pint glass which you slowly sip at.Originally posted by Batcher View PostYou're doing it wrong. Newkie Broon is designed to be drunk from the bottle

My nineteenth birthday party involved some misguided soul who thought he was doing me a favour by keeping my glass topped up with Newcastle Brown all night, birthday treat and all that.Originally posted by GlenW View PostNewcastle Brown is supposed to be served in a Wellington glass but it still takes like tulipe and makes you ill in any glass.
I haven't touched a drop of it since.
So perhaps not misguided at all. He did me a favour

If you drank like this every week, in a year you would consume:Originally posted by BrilloPad View Post
beer 364 pints
wine 1,040 glasses of wine
spirits 260 shots
Your drinking habits are unlike the average from any country.
But your closest match on overall consumption alone is Belarus, the heaviest-drinking country in the world.

And I'm not even considered a heavy drinker - I know lots of people who are doing 20-30 pints a weekComment

I put in 10 pints and 10 shots a week:I think I'm a bit higher than normal because I have a beer advent calender so I "have" to drink a pint every day even on top of having a beer with dinner. And I love taking a whisky to bed.which is 21% more than the average for men in the United Kingdom, and 189% more than the average for women.
My major thing is that I do drink (virtually) every day, though typically I'd say 1-2 drinks is the norm since I started watching my weight as I don't have enough calories for more! It's my routine to have a glass of wine with dinner or a beer while I do some music practice, and my nightly whisky. I don't feel any different if I don't drink for a few days, but apparently drinking every single day is bad even at a low level
