Too many 'managers' do not like people working from home.

Besides, is fibre 100% available in the country, I dont think so?

It doesn't matter how wealthy I get, like dodgy I can only drive one car at a time. That's true for most people I'd wager.
WRONG! As people get wealthier, they can afford a car. New drivers pass their test every day. You and one or two others confuse wealth with simply meaning those who are already car owners, not new ones.

Obviously that's far too hard for some to grasp.

Apparently, in the future, the self-driving cars will drop you off at your destination, than go off and drive someone else. So, people are theorising, that there will be 75% less cars on the road. (in the cities anyway).

Do you get to be on your own in a driver-less car or will it be like a taxi service, so like on a train you will end up seeing the same people all the time?

It really is old-fashioned thinking isn't it. I'd bet that people are more effective working in at home than at work. I'm sure I've read a study somewhere that basically people get very little work done "at work". So I've no idea why people are still clinging on to this outdated industrial-age belief.

Who cares if fibre is or isn't available 100%, I'm able to work from home with a download speed of 2Mbs. So there really are very little excuses.

Yes, you can ride with your family in one.

I want to meet interesting people. Sometimes on the train you meet interesting folk.

Truth is I don't know, but this does shed a little light.

..that they could be used to share specific trips as a kind of pay-as-you-go small-scale public transportation – taking a disparate bunch of Manhattanites to the beach in the Hamptons, for instance.

My point was that London demonstrably contradicts your argument that road quality isn't related to number of cars.

But thanks for clarifying - you've chosen an argument and now you're going selectively choose only data which supports that argument, to support your argument.
