Why? I love cats - I have 4 of them. But a debate will achieve nothing. Why not spend the money on extra policing?

But it wouldn't stop the current cat killings or even killings for about a year due to retailers having to rid of their stocks of the stuff.

Isn't that like saying better financial and sexual education in schools shouldn't be debated because it could be a decade or more before we see the fruit?

Don't worry, if the stop selling poisonous anti-freeze we can still kill cats by using aspirin.

Part of the reason sex education is taught in schools is it helps stop children being abused by adults so the results aren't a decade or more away.

Likewise financial education is often taught to teenagers who can work from the age of 16.

You still wouldn't see the results before cats stopped dying.

Is that really true about sex-ed though? I never heard that argument before. My sex-ed classes certainly didn't discuss abuse, is this a new (last 15 years) thing?
