If measuring the effects of something you have to measure against what would happen if the thing hadn't been there.

The Children of immigrants are still part of the immigration debate. Again they have been spun so the impact of a disastrous policy seems less than they really were.

Do you stop your project meetings for bow practice or give your employer a third of your crops? Thought not but they were common practice in the middle ages.
So are we talking recent or not?
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I tell you what, send all the migrants back to where they come from and all those Brits who have emigrated have to return to the UK, would you be happy then? Fro example, in 2014, the officially registered British-born population of Spain numbered 297,229 although there is believed to be many more and how many of those returning would be able to provide and wouldn't be a drain on the state?

to be fair I'm arguing a 10 -15% increase in population directly attributable to immigration without public approval or planning is a bad idea.

If it were people landing from mars or being farm bred in Wales the issue is the same.

Rather than attempt to ignore the EU policy of freedom of movement, and make harder migration into the UK, why don't they tighten up the social security system?

That would have the same effect and be within the rules.

They don't want to stop it its cheap labour which keeps wage inflation down.
