You are the sort of person who sees a linear trend in half a wave length of a sine wave.

Oh no! Could Dim Prawn actually be Lord Christopher Monckton, Third Viscount of Benchley!?

Also, the IPCC’s statistical manipulation of the global temperature data by a technique that enabled it falsely to maintain that the rate of global warming is accelerating (a technique that would just as falsely show a sine-wave as having a rising trend when the trend on a sine-wave is by definition zero) and its refusal to correct the resulting error in its*Fourth Assessment Report*upon a request from an expert reviewer that it should remove that now-discredited artifice demonstrate its self-serving and partisan intent and its panicky and now-flagrant disregard of the scientific method...We call upon the IPCC and all others who profit from magnifying global warming to cease and desist from the corruption of science.

yes, have you thought about having an eye test?

Now I'm really confused. Is there no global warming because 10% of the raw US data shows no trend for a century, or because a single satellite dataset (RSS) shows a flat trend in the lower troposphere for 17 years?

That's another Monckton graph btw, he gets around doesn't he? A few months ago he was claiming no warming for 18 years and 4 months. If the 'pause' is getting shorter is it no longer a 'pause'?

Here is what NASA found that temperatures at the Earth's surface have been doing during the 'pause'

We've gone full circle to the fiddled data...

That's why the scientists are going to look at it.

I think we all agree that the fiddled data gives a warming trend whereas the unadjusted data from the satellites don't.

Christopher Booker's work is done. All the datasets give a long term warming trend, with disagreements over the short term, unsurprising as they measure different quantities, the satellites measure microwave brightness in the atmosphere and, by the application of a model convert this to temperature, they cannot measure in polar areas, where warming is most prevalent as the angle is wrong and they have problems with mountainous regions. If you think they are not adjusted, then you're more blinkered than you appear. Check out this article from the director of RSS ...

The GWPF has specifically excluded satellite data from its phoney investigation, presumably it regards these as trustworthy. Here are the 2 main satellite datasets and 2 main surface datasets plotted together.

Can you indicate which are the trustworthy data and which are the 'fiddled' please?
