That may not be flat-out denial however it is indicative of an ignorance of statistics, and a strong confirmation bias.
Maybe. This however is NOT factual:

But to describe this years Arctic ice numbers as an increase or a 'recovery' as some are, just because we haven't had another record low this year, well, that looks like the confirmation bias of which you speak. according to the US NSIDC

let me give you a classic example of confirmation bias.

Some flimsy evidence is found that the western ice sheet is getting smaller, pj is all over this site crowing that this proves the cagw hypothesis.

Solid concrete evidence that it's not true, and the world ice is growing fast, which goes against the cagw hypothesis - you have to drag it out of him.

To be fair, at least he didn't deny it. Sea ice, (the arctic bit was supposed to be gone by now), currently covers the same area as the USA and Europe combined

Could you be more confused? Seems not.

Land ice is ice sitting on land, the main ice sheets are over Greenland and West Antacrtica. when land ice melts it contriubutes to sea level rise. Both ice sheets are losing volume, at a combined rate of 500 cubic miles/yr.

TC - Abstract - Elevation and elevation change of Greenland and Antarctica derived from CryoSat-2

Sea ice is in severe decline in the Arctic, increasing modestly in the Antarctic. Melting sea ice has a negligible effect on sea level, but less sea ice cover results in more sunlight being absorbed - a positive feedback. The summer Arctic ice will diminish to zero at some point, but I'm not aware of a prediction that it would happen by 2014, most forecasts put the event at 2020-2030, with error bars....

Dodgy, have you just discovered that there are such things as facts?

What's the big deal. In 5 Billion years the sun will turn red and then expand to consume Earth anyway!

This is a sine wave. It shows a cycle that you will find in your lekky, financial markets, radio waves and natural processes.
The climate operates in cycles. Unfortunately , the climate geniuses dont look at the cycle, they look at one little bit and extrapolate it. It is a fatal mistake and explains why pj has to come on here and admit that increasing antarctic sea ice is 'a puzzle'

you have to understand what he is doing here.
when the sea ice extent was cooperating with the models, it was the most important measurement ever.
Now it's not cooperating, he switches to ice volume.

                      just more confirmation bias
