Regarding this CU business and economic argument. 300+ years of union will never end 'well'. There's no such thing a smooth transition from one to the other. All the take just blankets people from the fact that a lot will change. It's silly to suggest nothing will change.
Imagine the CU is blocked. Okay, Scotland uses the pound anyway. Nothing can stop that.
Or Scotland adopts the euro (which is fine for wealthy nations will good accountants that don't cook the books).
Imagine the pressure on businesses in the south with trading partners using the euro in the north. That is the one thing Westminster will not want. It's bad enough traders in England have to contend with exchange rates when exporting to the EU, but also in these islands in the north?
The PM will be the most unpopular individual ever for forcing more pressure on small businesses in the north of England into the ground.
There's so many dynamics, but the path of least resistance shall prevail. It always does in nature. A CU is that path, whether you like it or not."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind.
An independent Scotland will have the chance to start from scratch to build a better system. The financial sector is huge and will probably have to find it's level.Comment
