Is the data itself encrypted though? It's fine sending and retrieving all encryptioned-up but if it's not encrypted where it sits then what's the point?

Yes. Encrypted at the client before upload. No one at Tresorit can read the data. Forget your p/w and it's curtains if you're fully committed.

      Client-side encryption

Encryption is performed before content gets uploaded to the cloud. So we don’t leave a single bit of data unprotected.
AES-256, which we use to encrypt data on your device, cannot be hacked by current technology.

      Available and secure data centers

We store your content geo-redundantly in the European Union: numerous copies are stored at multiple locations.
All of our data centers employ physical security measures against intrusion, and are equipped with uninterruptible power and backup systems.

      Shareable encryption

Shared content encryption and key management all happen in the background, requiring no user interaction.
Our patent-pending ICE protocol handles secure data transfer between multiple participants.

        Seems straightforward

        1) Don't pose for naked photos

        2) If you do, don't put them on the internet.
        By the same token:

        1) Don't have a credit card

        2) If you do, don't use it online.

Fraud victims whose info was stolen from some company's servers? Serve 'em right, they were asking for it. It's because they're greedy and lazy, wanting to save money on their shopping and have it delivered. They brought it on themselves. If they didn't understand the security risks, they shouldn't have used it.

Or we could stop victim-shaming. Just a thought.

Not seen the pics, are they just tits, or are there some with gash, clunge or vag? Actually aren't those the same thing?

well after doing some googling a found a link which said it was the leaked pics and seemed to have a selection of tits, ass, vag, gash, clunge and hairy clam

but as I do not know what most of these actresses look with their clothes on to be honest they could just have been pictures of random naked birds.

Different, but related subject, with exactly the same social attitude:

Rape culture is telling girls and women to be careful about what you wear, how you wear it, how you carry yourself, where you walk, when you walk there, with whom you walk, whom you trust, what you do, where you do it, with whom you do it, what you drink, how much you drink, whether you make eye contact, if you’re alone, if you’re with a stranger, if you’re in a group, if you’re in a group of strangers, if it’s dark, if the area is unfamiliar, if you’re carrying something, how you carry it, what kind of shoes you’re wearing in case you have to run, what kind of purse you carry, what jewelry you wear, what time it is, what street it is, what environment it is, how many people you sleep with, what kind of people you sleep with, who your friends are, to whom you give your number, who’s around when the delivery guy comes, to get an apartment where you can see who’s at the door before they can see you, to check before you open the door to the delivery guy, to own a dog or a dog-sound-making machine, to get a roommate, to take self-defense, to always be alert always pay attention always watch your back always be aware of your surroundings and never let your guard down for a moment lest you be sexually assaulted and if you are and didn’t follow all the rules it’s your fault.

If you were walking along a street in broad daylight and were mugged for your wallet you could by your own argument be blamed for carrying money on your person in the first place. With regards to your comment above not everyone has a first class honours in geekery. If they did you would be out of a job - so spare the sanctimony.

I don't think NF was being sanctimonious.
