(Besides August/august, I knew about Job/job and Polish/polish, and then found that Wikipedia page after "reverse-cheating" by Googling for any others.)Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

Although it's not the capitalisation that makes the difference - I don't believe chemical names are normally capitalised are they?Originally posted by Pondlife View PostLead/leadComment

August Quiz
Many of probably know that August was named after the emperor Augustus. Two days ago was the 2000th anniversary of his death ( I was at a commerative conference in Leeds). Suetonius tells us that he died at the ninth hour in Nola. Kudos to anyone who can work out what time he died. But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition. I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Close, but we can be more precise to within 68.2 mins.Originally posted by OwlHoot View Post
On the 18th Aug at Nola the day was from 06:16 -> 19:54, therefore 1 Roman hour = 68.2 mins putting Augustus' death between 15:21 and 16:26 our time.
Any arguments please see:

Friday actually comes from Freyja - Norse God of love, beauty, fertility, war, wealth, divination and magic.
