I was implying you're a pretentious snob. The whole point of a fry up is it is big and filling, not a gourmet experience.

And I was pointing out that a fry up doesn't need to be made from tulip loads of the cheapest, crapest ingredients.

I don't think that one has to be a pretentious snob to choose to eat fairly decent quality food rather than tulipe.

A good fry up is a joy but the disgusting pile of crap pictured wouldn't count as a good fry up, only a tasteless grunt like you would think it did.

Trot off down to your local gastro pub for beer-battered cod with hand-made potato wedges and organic pea purée, there's a good lad.

Hand made potato wedges = it's less hassle than making proper chips
Thich cut chips = it's easier than making thin cut chips
Skin on chips = and now we could not even be bothered to peel the spuds first
skin on potato wedges = we really are fookin bone idle.

It's not really a "fry up" if you use posh fancy ingredients though, is my point. The quintessential English fry-up IS a big pile of greasy food. If you want fancy ingredients, it's a cooked breakfast

Used to in Germany but they seem to have stopped that now, mind you, the beer was pish, Burger King was better. In fact a lot of Maccy D's are turning into McCafes now...although you can still get burgers

No black pudding. And the beer is flat. Looks like a southerner's breakfast to me.
